Lando called me out of the blue this morning, and informed me he had an extra ticket to see Ben Folds in Omaha. I haven’t listened to any Ben Folds for a while, although I did go through a period of being really into his music about two years ago, and I know his live album is pretty good. So despite the ticket price being higher than I am normally willing to pay for a single-act show, I went along.
It was an awesome show.
Wait, wait—let me try that again with some visual emphasis: The show was awesome.
His performance was spot-on, and the crucial live element (that was so utterly absent from the Death Cab show) was definitely there. He played the crowd well, and the set ran for nearly two hours. It was a varied mix of older and newer stuff. I am apparently not as big a fan as I perceived myself to be, since I only recognized about half to two-thirds of the tunes. Definitely a worthwhile show; I would recommend everyone go to one of his future concerts if you get a chance.
This was also an opportunity to try out my new camera for the first time, since I just bought a memory card that will actually store more than twelve pictures at once. I’ll post some of the ones I took if they turn out OK; the dark theatre was not exactly a prime environment for amateur photography. I also managed to get some nice movies of a couple songs, which should be better.

Thanks. Death Cab was back in December. I wrote a post about it if you’re really curious.
