watt or not

Seattle photos are up

Last night I put 53 photos online from my trip back in March. There are some good ones in there, especially if you like people who like tractors. There are also some that really need an explanatory post or two; I’ll have entries detailing that stuff up over the next couple of days.

Browser skirmish

In the meantime, I just downloaded Bon Echo Alpha 3 for OS X. I have been a Mozilla fan on Windows for a long time, but have staunchly refused to leave the comfort of Safari on Mac. It’s because of a certain Mac Firefox “feature”: if you click and hold the left mouse button, it behaves the same as a right-click, and opens a contextual menu. I guess that’s handy on a laptop, but I find it incredibly annoying, and there is no way to disable it. Believe me, I’ve checked. So when I saw that they finally added an option to disable the stupid thing, I jumped on the ol’ download and tried it out.

Well, it’s great. Firefox 2 makes Safari look like it was somehow constructed entirely out of molasses. And with built-in spellchecking, Safari’s edge that kept me loyal has been mostly eliminated. Of course, I’m not packing up my bookmarks and switching over just yet; I’ll at least wait for it to make beta before that.

If you want to check it out for yourself, you can pick up binaries a couple posts down on this page. I couldn’t find a more official download site than that.

What’s with the lame scenic pictures? Who are you, James Watt? I thought you would’ve learned from the DIGS trip, you should try and balance your pictures with scenery and ridiculously unnecessary ones of Amanda wearing funny hats (or whatever). Five pictures of birds in the grass…..overindulgent. If you’re going to play the role of boring narrator, you should try not to also have boring pictures. So, pretty much you fail at life.

    PS-Is that a little harsh?
